Oliver Stone - I have no problem with anyone making any movie, CD, book, etc. they want and I never ever want that right to be taken away from anyone, no matter how idiotic they are or how distorted their work is. I nearly cried when there was talk of Palin banning books in a local library...until I found out it was a bunch of liberal BS, or a desperate attempt to find something wrong with the woman. As you may well know, Oliver Stone has a film, "W" coming out, which, as you can guess, is a film full of lies and distortions of President Bush. And I don't have a problem with that, but it does not stop me from thinking Oliver Stone is a hypocrite and well, a dumbass. Just check this out: Will Oliver Stone see success with his George W. Bush biopic? - Times Online In it, we learn the movie was funded by China, we hear Stone insult McCain's military service, insult Palin, and above all, he insults the country, which pisses me off the most. If it weren't for "ignorant" America, Oliver Stone would not have the career, the money, or the freedom to make whatever the hell movie he wants.
Which brings me to the new thing I'm going to do to counteract my "dumbass of the day." I'm going to post something about someone who has done something decent, informative, entertaining, patriotic, etc. I just can't figure out what to call them yet. Tonight's person is going to be Greg Gutfeld, host of Red Eye w/ Greg Gutfeld (3:00 AM, Fox News). As I said in my last post, it's hard to do smart political humor and it's rare we get any from someone who's not a big crazy liberal, but if you ever watch the show, read Gutfeld's writing, or see him on other radio and TV shows, you'll see a great mind at work. I could pull up just about anything he's written to prove this point, but today's "Gregalogue" as posted on his blog The Daily Gut, is about idiot college kids...and it's very clever and funny, but very true. Go ahead - click the link and check it out. It'll lower your blood pressure after you read the Oliver Stone article.
And by the way, if you have an idea of what I call call the person I choose each day who is not the dumbass, please let me know. And yes, "patriot" is already taken. (I swear that's not where I got the idea. I don't even really like Bill O'Reilly.)
And 10-7 means out of service. Which is where I'm going for the night. The end.

I would like to address the Bill O'Reilly issue first. If you haven't seen it, you need to see the interview he had with Barney Frank. If ever there was a number one moment for Bill, that was it.
Now to Oliver Stone.
I learned about 20 years ago that Olvier Stone (and about 90% of the people in Hollywood) was a dumbass when I went and saw Platoon. Platoon portrayed the American soldier in Vietnam as either a manical killer or a drug addict.
I went into the military within a year and a half after the U.S. withdrawl from Vietnam and served with a large number of Vietnam vets. I never saw any signs that made any of the ones I proudly served with as drug dependent psychopaths. They were just men and women who did what their country asked them to do. And I would be proud to serve with them again.
Just producing the movie Platoon alone would have made Oliver Stone Dumbass of the Day.
W, unfortunately was filmed here in Shreveport. I, nor Pat, have any intentions of seeing bit of cinema trash. I know it will be b.s. (Barbara Stresiand).
And speaking of B.S., the star of W. is her steps-son,Josh Brolin. So you can be doubly sure the movie is totally without any bias.
For those how love news concerning celebrities, here's one you probably didn't hear on E!
It was either near the end of filming W, or during the wrap up, several cast members, including Josh Brolin, a couple of co-stars, and several set workers were arrested by the Shreveport police during a bar fight.
The last I heard Cedric Glover, Mayor of Shreveport, viewed the tapes and is backing his officers. Way To Go Mayor!
We of the Right needn't fear anything unusual of Oliver Stone's next film, "W".
His track record? Natural Born Killers, messed-up. Born on the Fourth of July, messed-up. World Trade Center, full of utter BushCo-friendly nonsense and lies.
The only way Stone could make George W look bad, is if he uses actual news footage of our President. If Stone just gets Brolin to ad-lib lines and snort coke off photos of Prescott Bush blowing Heinrich Himmler, then there are LOADS of embarassment from the last 8 years that won't make it into the film.

Oliver Stone, you make me sick! I don't think I will ever watch another Oliver Stone production.
You could not portray George Bush as he actually is, a madman, a lying dirty dog? You knew him? No, you do NOT know George Bush.
His distorted sick lies led this country to war, he squandered every dime we have and WILL have for years to come. He claimed christianity, when I clearly heard him say years back that he knew nothing about being born again. He sure didn't!
The first que was in one of the commandments where Jesus said "Thou Shalt Not Kill". Yet they all missed it. It's not like those he had sought down had done any wrong to us, or were HERE killing us; it's not like it was self-defense. It was out and out murder of the innocents.
He was and IS a great deceiver who deceived the entire christian community with his lies which they fell for. All but me and a few others. He is responsible for the deaths of more than 100,000 people, over 4,000 of our own plus all those deaths and destruction in Iraq. He is responsible right now for the mess our economy faces and our struggles for years to come. He is the most evil thing that could ever have befallen us.
And you couldn't tell the truth in your movie? You think he will be around and with us for a long time to come? I just pray to God that you are wrong and that we will be rid of that evil doer forever!
Steve - I actually regained some respect for Bill O. when he confronted Frank because no one else will do it and I'm so tired of these people not being held accountable for their actions...I am still not a huge fan of his though.
I actually heard about the Josh Brolin fight but had no idea it happened in (or was filmed in) Shreveport. It's a shame, he was so good in "No Country For Old Men" but I will not be seeing this film.
