What happened to the previews??

(Oops, I made this post at 8:57 and forgot to publish it, so it's a bit out of order compared to the last one.)

So, I put in a DVD this evening (The Nanny Diaries - don't laugh, I liked the book - and don't laugh at that, I could relate, I did a lot of babysitting back in the day!) and the first few "previews" weren't previews at all - they were a "PSA" of sorts. Anti-smoking, "big tobacco companies kill people" crap. Stupid Weinsteins.

Anyway, so I'm sitting here now watching this Republican debate on ABC and I have to say it's pretty good...this is the first one (that I've seen anyway) where they're actually talking back and forth, not just answering Charlie Gibson in one minute and moving on. I missed the first half hour or so, but I have to say how can you watch this and not just see that Fred Thompson is the most reasonable voice up there, 99% of the time? I'm really tempted to make calls to South Carolina folks on his behalf. Has anyone ever actually done that? How'd it go?

Speaking of Fred Thompson, I have to retract something I said a few nights ago. I believe I said, actually, I did say, "Ah lovely, I turn on the TV - Red Eye is on and Andy Levy is saying completely not cool Fred Thompson things." Upon further review of that night's Half-time Report, it seems as though Mr. Levy didn't really say not cool things about Senator Thompson, and so, I stand corrected. In my defense I'd just rolled out of bed...and I take my FT seriously.

George Stephanopoulos is such a girl. He just said Fred Thompson was good tonight. That's all it takes to win favor with me right now. Even if you're George Stephanopoulos.

So now...Dem debate or another movie? I've got Lolita, Happy Endings, and Eulogy still to go.
