Junior War Correspondent
Maybe I should have always realized what I wanted to do with my life...I was cleaning out some stuff in my closet today and I stumbled across an old diary from elementary/middle school. In it, nestled somewhere between "I'm in love with my best friend's bother" and "Such and such guy talked to me during recess today," I discuss why George Bush (1st one) is going to declare war on Iraq and then go on about how Saddam Hussein "is stupid." Journalism world, look out!

Quote of the Day 8-18-06
I got this in a forwarded e-mail, so I have no idea who originally said it, but it cracks me up, so it's going to be my quote of the day:
HOW TO STOP PEOPLE FROM BUGGING YOU ABOUT GETTING MARRIED:
"Old aunts used to come up to me at weddings, poking me in the ribs and cackling, telling me, 'You're next.' They stopped after I started doing the same thing to them at funerals."

Quote of the Day 8-12-06 Robert Frost
Maybe I should start having poem of the day. I think I picked this because of wishful thinking...it's 68 degrees right now and quite breezy, which for mid-August here is pretty bizarre, but welcome. It feels as though fall is in the air and that is perhaps the time of year that evokes so many thoughts and memories that I'd love to write about tonight but that would take forever. Not that it ever snows here any time of year, much less in fall, but it made me think of this anyway.
Whose woods these are I think I know
His house is in the village though
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow
- Robert Frost

Quote of the Day 8-9-06 Greta Van Susteren
"My older brother told me the other day that he was surprised how much I know about the Israeli/Hezbollah war. Apparently he can't quite forget me as the younger sister unable to stand, talk or spell. I thought, in response to his comment, where does he think I have been for years?! And what does he think I have been doing?" - Greta Van Susteren (GretaWire)

Quote of the Day 8-7-06 Ella Wheeler Wilcox
"There's one sad truth in life I've found, while journeying east and west.
The only folks we really wound, are those we love the best.
We flatter those we scarcely know, we please the fleeting guest.
And deal full many a thoughtless blow to those who love us best."
- Ella Wheeler Wilcox
