Quote of the day 4-19-06 Ann Coulter
"Every woman who has had an abortion feels compelled to defend abortion for all women; every man who's ever been at a party with strippers thinks he has to defend all men who watch strippers; and every Democrat who voted for Bill Clinton feels the need to defend duplicity, adultery, lying about adultery, sexual harassment, rape, perjury, obstruction of justice, kicking the can of global Islamo-fascism down the road for eight years and so on." - Ann Coulter

Quote of the Day 4-6-06
Tea - yeah, we have tea. It comes in a glass over ice and is sweet. You want it hot -- sit it in the sun. You want it unsweetened -- add a lot of water.
I read this in some sort of travel guide for "Yankees" visiting the South.

It Wasn't My Fault...
Rush Limbaugh often says that nothing is ever a liberal's fault and I'm beginning to think he's right. I see that characteristic in liberal friends and family members, and I see that tonight in who I am embarrassed to say is a Georgia Congresswoman, Cynthia McKinney. Cynthia is a radical, if not psychotic woman, and I've yet to figure out how she gets elected (though there was a priceless incident a few years ago when many Republicans in her mostly Democratic district voted for her opponent, Denise Majette, in a Democratic primary). She is known for many a controversial comment, from blaming George Bush for causing 9/11 to stating that Al Gore... well, didn't like black people. Her other areas of expertise include infinite Republican bashing, George Bush impeachment attempts, antiwar activism -- no matter the war, George Bush bashing -- no matter the George Bush, Anti-Semitic activities, human rights (but only when the humans are black and not Republicans or George Bush or Jewish), finding the "truth" about 9/11 and her latest area of expertise is the Hurricane Katrina response "blame game."
So, I'm driving home from work yesterday and I hear on the radio that a congresswoman has assaulted a police officer. I never would have guessed that it was McKinney herself. Though it was long overdue -- it'd been about four or five months since she's done something stupid, so I really should have put two and two together. Apparently Ms. McKinney was trying to pass through a metal detector into the capitol building without any sort of identification. The officer asked her to step back, she declined, he grabbed her before she could enter, and she belted him in the chest. Last time I checked, when an average citizen assaults a police officer who was merely trying to do his job, it is a felony. And hitting an officer would be considered assault -- but I'm no lawyer and it would seem from the way it is being handled, Ms. McKinney is not an average citizen. As far as I know, she has yet to be arrested. I, on the other hand, would probably be behind bars at this very moment.
Her original defense was face recognition. Translation = don't you know who I am? Public servants take note: should Cynthia McKinney ever come into your establishment, don't make her do anything she doesn't want to, or you could end up with a black eye or a bloody nose! Study her picture, know her importance.
Her new defense some two days later is the old standby. "This whole incident was instigated by the inappropriate touching and stopping of me, a female black congresswoman," said the Congresswoman this afternoon. She was flanked by civil rights leaders, Harry Belafonte, and some very young schoolchildren holding signs that read "God Bless Cynthia McKinney" among other similar phrases of support (I believe there's some kind of child labor laws being broken there.) For a moment, I thought it was a preview for tomorrow night's Saturday Night Live, but then I realized it was way too humorous for that.
I'm interested to see what will come of this situation. The only prediction I can make is that "The Reverend Jackson" will be in town by noon, tomorrow and a list of the names of people to blame for this incident will be announced.
Stop for a minute and imagine Congressman Tom Delay (a supposed corrupt individual who has done nothing wrong as of yet but has already been mentally tried and sentenced by the very people who insist that even men who want to kill every last American should be treated fairly). Place him in a similar situation in which the officer asked him not to enter. Would this have occurred? Probably not. Congressman Delay would have stepped back and showed the proper identification. Let's look at more outspoken members of congress. I honestly believe that even a Nancy Pelosi (female), Jesse Jackson Jr. (black), Sheila Jackson Lee (black and female), and even any member of the Kennedy clan in all their glory would not have reacted this way! The truth is, this didn't happen because Cynthia McKinney is black or a woman. This happened simply because Cynthia McKinney is as someone put it, a "diva." A person so full of herself, that she'll do what it takes to blame everyone in her path for her own faults. A person so full of herself, that she believes everyone is out to get her.
